It's all a mirage

We walk through the desert - hunger and thirst abound. The devil throws up a mirage. We run full force, full focus, arms flawing in the air, and DIVE into the ...you guessed it...SAND!

Deuteronomy 8:3,4,5

...years of getting by, barely making it. God says I was in the middle of all that, testing you, proving you, humbling you.

Why aren't I a singer
Why don't I have children yet
Why aren't I rich
Why don't I have a sailboat
Why aren't I there yet

We oftentimes think we are more ready than we are for what we want or think we need. God knows when we are fully mature and ready to receive the 'prize'. He wants us to trust Him and know Him and let Him do the work. Our job is to serve Him with gladness even through the land of wilderness.

It's time to stop digging empty wells and chasing mirages.

God did not give us something hard just to watch us struggle. Sometimes He leads us into the wilderness. He could have given us an easier route but we would not mature or be humbled.

If you are not prone to walk with Him in the wilderness, spending time finding tools, people, routes all on your own and being angry, shouting with raised fist to the heavens, why Lord whining times, will you do so in the times of plenty?

Remember that the 'stuff', is just a mirage and won't fill you with the complete joy and peace you find when you listen to the whisperings of the Lord, and follow it instead of your own.
