Priceless moment un
As I sit at the computer desk, I can view a bird feeder I made last year through the window. There are leaves and flowers climbing up to the tray that holds bird seed.
Mean ol Blue Jays (grrrr) come in the morning sometimes to have the first meal, usually frightening away the small brown birds. (Don't ask me what they are called other than their color.)
However, there has been a change of pace lately. A chipmunk, let's call him Dale, has been scurrying into the yard and sits on the wooden boards that line the driveway. He gets on his hind legs and attempts to see what is in the tray.
Silly Dale.
He is all of 5 or 6 inches. The tray sits above the ground about 3 feet.
I have been watching his curious nature for a few weeks. Always the same, he stands and investigates.
The other day, he was more brave. I wondered if he had been surfin' the net to find ways to make it to the munchies that lay in wait for his hungry tummy.
Silly me.
I don't know what came first, the giggle or Dale's leap. He did not stand long before he took a sudden dive for the leaves and flowers. Within a second or two he was at the edge of the tray. I don't know what he thought. I did not hear anything from Dale.... :)
What I do know is after he checked his morning meal out, he sat smack in the middle of the tray and feasted.
Since then, he is the one who arrives early in the morning to scare away the Blue Jays and gets the first eats of the day.
Not so silly Dale anymore is he?
I think he is priceless.
Priceless moment duex
One of my sons rarely smiles or laughs. Life is hard for him but I keep loving on him and know that God will bring about a more joy filled spirit within him when the time is perfect and right.
So to hear him laugh is a rarity.
Last night was rare.
Three of us sat playing cards. One of the three was cheating. Wasn't me. Wasn't my son. I won't tattle and name names.
When the cheater got up to leave, my son and I continued on with the game. My son waited for eye contact with me and with a crafty smile, asked me if he should pull one of the cheaters tricks.
I burst into laughter. Up to that point I had no idea he knew the other person was cheating. It was so funny but so priceless to hear him laugh. So priceless that he was able to spend some moments thinking on things that are not such a burden to his mind and his heart.
Don't you just love priceless moments?
Have any you want to share?
