Teamwork

Teamwork - work done by several associates with each doing a part of all subordinating personal prominence to the efficiency of the whole.

Last year my job position changed. Alrightee then - change, come if you must but you can't make me smile. :-(

During the first few months I kept hearing the word team and teamwork being referred to.

I inquired.

Wouldn't you?

I was handed a list of team members. I was on the list of team members.

Hmmm

The book store sells a lot of dictionaries. I have come to the conclusion that each one must have their own definitions for words. Why else then would it be that team and teamwork to me are not team and teamwork to the other team members?

A team member was an observer. Their team contribution was their presence.

B team member said they read a lot of books on the subject we were working on and took plenty of college classes on the subject. That would be their contribution. Only thing was, they had not been taught to use the information - but did offer to read for us.

C team member was aggressive. They could and would get things done but then of course, only the way they wanted them done and in their time and manner.

D team member deferred all questions and responses to their co pilot who was too intimidated to respond.

E team member brainstormed from personal experience and was open to options. They were caring, interested and kind.

F team member, which was moi', was expected to do it all, log it all and follow their vague instructions.

F team member grew weary. Team F member did the only survivable thing they could do. I prayed, researched and joined forces in private with team member E.
